15.10.2020 Start of the EnerGizerS project funded under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism Programme POLNOR 2019!

Project: CO2-Enhanced Geothermal Systems for Climate Neutral Energy Supply, acronym EnerGizerS, registration number NOR/POLNOR/EnerGizerS/0036/2019 obtained funding as part of the POLNOR 2019 Polish-Norwegian research projects financed under EEA and Norway Grants.

The project will be implemented in 2020-2023 by a consortium of:

  • AGH University of Science and Technology, Cracow, Poland – Project Promoter”
  • Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute, Polish Academy of Sciences, Cracow, Poland – Project Partner
  • SINTEF Energi AS, Trondheim, Norway – – Project Partner
  • Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway – Project Partner
  • EXERGON LLC, Gliwice, Poland – Project Partner

The main objective of the project is to analyze the efficiency of the Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) using CO2 as a working fluid. The proposed solution aims to take action to protect the climate by producing clean and ecological geothermal energy and simultaneously reduce carbon dioxide emissions coming from combustion of fossil fuels.

Total budget: 5 932 700 PLN
